MRO Software Offers MAXIMO MainControl for IT Asset Management: New Alliance Agreement with Visionael Combines IT Asset with Network Resource Management

MRO Software announced that it has partnered with Visionael to offer its customers extended IT asset management features by leveraging Visionael's documentation and discovery capabilities -- resulting in real cost savings and operational efficiencies. Together, the companies will provide customers with a complete solution for consolidating the management and procurement of critical assets across the enterprise.

Gartner Symposium ITxpo, Lake Buena Vista, Fla., Booth 1445, October 8, 2002 - MRO Software (Nasdaq: MROI), a leading provider of e-Business solutions for strategic asset management, today announced that MAXIMO MainControl, the Company's IT asset management solution, will be featured as part of the Company's strategic asset management (SAM) suite at Gartner's ITxpo. The MAXIMO MainControl solution is based on the IT asset management capabilities added to the MAXIMO suite through acquisition of MainControl in June 2002.

MRO Software also announced an alliance agreement with Visionael, a leading provider of network resource management (NRM) solutions. The partnership with Visionael will extend MAXIMO MainControl's leading lifecycle IT asset management technology to include network equipment all the way from a workgroup switch through to the network backbone.

The MAXIMO MainControl solution enables customers to strategically manage the configurations and costs of technology resources, including computers, network equipment and software, throughout the enterprise. The product manages assets throughout their lifecycle, allowing for efficient planning, procurement, deployment, tracking, maintenance and retirement of these critical asset types. MAXIMO MainControl is an integral part of MRO Software's suite for strategic asset management that provides customers with solutions for managing the assets most critical to their bottom line including manufacturing, and production assets, facilities, fleets, and IT assets.

Visionael Agreement

To meet the unique challenges associated with enterprise networks, MRO Software has signed a marketing alliance agreement with Visionael to expand the IT asset management capabilities of MAXIMO MainControl. By enhancing MAXIMO MainControl data collection capabilities with Visionael 6 automated network discovery technology, customers will be able to access asset data from network devices for a more complete IT asset management system. This combination will provide discovery of network equipment and management of routers, switches and other network devices along with existing hardware and software IT assets.
