"If I get another telemarketing call I'll scream!"
"Every day millions of people across the country are getting abused in their own homes," says corporate sales trainer, Len Foley, "and it's done through their own telephones..."
Do these words sound familiar?
"Every day millions of people across the country are getting abused in their own homes," says corporate sales trainer, Len Foley, "and it's done through their own telephones!"
According to Foley, telemarketing has become a form of subtle abuse. "Whether it's a late night telemarketer or someone calling with a ridiculous insurance survey---most phone solicitation is nothing more than manipulative battery.
"I hate receiving cold calls as much as anyone," says Foley. "It's no coincidence that selling has become one of the world's most despised professions; bored telemarketers reading their uninspired scripts, it's truly demeaning.
Foley is the author of the best-selling book: Sales Without The Sucker Punch (www.nosuckersales.com) and has developed a rather unorthodox approach to the business of sales.
"Believe it or not, the most offensive salespeople are usually the ones that have taken the most sales training courses and read the most books on how to effectively sell! But I don't teach people how to sell," adds Foley. "I teach people how to relate to other human beings."
"Len's style is unique," says the Atlanta Journal's Sales Training Coordinator, Dr. Naomi Ross. "His work has been consistently above the norm; with the people he trains routinely 'graduating' to the sales force with 25%-30% greater sales.
"It's truly odd," adds Dr. Ross, "Len doesn't teach people how to sell, he teaches them how to connect with other people...and in the end, they end up happier, and more fulfilled, and able to out-produce everyone else in their department!"
