P.S. Did you know that AMBER stands for; Americas Missing
Broadcast Emergency Response. Named for 9 year old Amber
Hagerman of Arlington Texas who was abducted and brutally
Murdered.

  • AMBER ALERT was a result of the outrage of the entire
Community. The Dallas/ Fort Worth Association of Radio Mangers
Teamed up with local law-enforcement agencies in northern Texas
And developed this innovative early warning system to help find
Abducted children. When abducted, a childs greatest Enemy is TIME.

Here in Pennsylvania, the AMBER ALERT is now communicated
On the Pa. TURNPIKE via Highway Advisory Radio ( AM 1640)
And Flashing Message Boards. Motorists traveling on the
Turnpike can tune to 1640 AM within 2 miles of an exit and
Receive any alerts, including AMBER, weather, Lane Changes
And any other important messages.

Drivers approaching the Turnpike, can tune to AM 1640 about
2 miles from the entrance to the Pike. There are green Turnpike
keystone signs about 2 miles from the EXITS.
