It's Not Too Late
On November 1 K-12 students will have a chance to show their understanding of the vital role they will play as citizens by voting in the 12th National Student/Parent Mock Election.
For the past year the world has looked at the United States expecting to see fear, dismay and rage. What they have seen is valor, determination and pride - pride in their country and themselves.
Students in all fifty states and those living abroad have demonstrated compassion and commitment, intelligence and understanding, courage and leadership. These qualities, if nurtured, will produce fine citizens.
Let's reward our young citizens in a joyful celebration of Democracy with a huge turnout of young voters and their parents and teachers in the 2002 National Student/Parent Mock Election.
It's not too late to enroll. Just visit www.nationalmockelection.com, click ENROLLMENT and register a classroom, a school, an entire school district or an organization. Instructions for voting will be sent to you and are available online.
Individual students, parents, grandparents and teachers can also cast votes through AOLs Election Guide website www.electionguide2002.com/mockelection.adp . Ballots are now online for viewing and printing, and on-line voting commences on October 28.
Show your pride. Demonstrate your love of your country and Democracy. It's not too late.
