Breakthrough Films & Television announces its partnership with Atomic Cartoons and Phil Roman Entertainment to co-produce Atomic Betty, an exciting new half-hour animated TV series about a little girl with a big secret.      Breakthrough Films & Television announces its partnership with Atomic Cartoons and Phil Roman Entertainment to co-produce Atomic Betty, an exciting new half-hour animated TV series about a little girl with a big secret.
     Atomic Betty, currently in development with Teletoon Canada,is now available for presales and other excitinf licensing opportunities. The series was the third most screened program at last years MIPCOM JR.

     To her friends and family, Bettys a sweet and brainy girl with few friends, but when the galaxy beckons, she sheds her

humdrum persona and becomes: Atomic Betty," Intergalactic Rocket Jockey and Legendary Defender of the Universe.

While the citizens of Earth carry on with their everyday lives, Atomic Betty zips across the galaxy on daring and valiant

missions, but back on Earth, nobody suspects a thing -- and thats just the way Betty likes it. If her mom and dad knew she

was jetting around the galaxy without a cosmic license, shed be grounded for sure!

     Atomic Betty is a joint venture between producers Ira Levy and Peter Williamson of Breakthrough Films and Television and Fresh Produce partners Kevin Gillis (The Raccoons", Robocop: The Series", Eckhart the Series") and Steven Hecht; producers and series creators, Trevor Bentley, Rob Davies, Mauro Casalese and Olaf Miller of Atomic Cartoons; and six-time Emmy winner, Phil Roman of Phil Roman Entertainment. Kevin Gillis is producing for Breakthrough.
     Breakthrough Entertainment (BEl), a sister company of Breakthrough Films and TV, is a worldwide distributor of the series. Phil Roman Entertainment, is providing executive producing services, and is the show's sales agent in the         United States.
    
    Vancouver based Atomic Cartoons was founded in 1999 by Producers/Directors Trevor Bentley, Mauro Casalese, Olaf Miller and Emmy winner Rob Davies. The four have directed a multitude of successful animation projects and provided pre-production on over 100 half-hours of television animation since opening their doors, including Warner Brothers' The Zeta Project", Film Roman's The Oblongs", Cartoon Networks, Edd, ed, and Eddy" and Nelvana's, Pelswick" and Brace Face". Atomic has also produced numerous Internet projects for companies such as Mondo Media, Thugs On Film" and WB Online, Chuck Jones Timber Wolf".

     Phil Roman formed his North Hollywood, California based Phil Roman Entertainment Company in 1999, after departing Film Roman, a company he founded 14 years earlier. He has served as Executive Producer of a number of animation blockbusters: The Simpsons", King of the Hill", and Garfield" series among others. Roman is currently directing Mattels Direct-to-Video special based on Barbie's little sister Kelly. Roman is also serving as an Executive Producer of Howdi Gaudi", a co-production of Steve Walsh Productions and The Gaudins Projects S.L.
     Breakthrough films and TV is a Toronto based independent production company founded by Executive Producers
Ira Levy and Peter Williamson. Its successes include the award winning syndicated children's series, The Adventures of Dudley the Dragon" and the poignant hospital documentary, Little Miracles", licensed in over 100 territories around the world. Levy and Williamson won the coveted ChetWynd Award for entrepreneurial excellence at the 2001 Banff International Television Festival. Their most recent project, the much-anticipated new 'tween live action comedy, I Love Mummy", a co-production with UK's Winklemania Productions, will also be unveiled at MIPCOM 2002.
     Kevin Gillis of Fresh Produce, and one of Canada's leading independent producers, created, produced, directed and acted as head writer on the highly acclaimed animated family series, The Raccoons". He has Executive Produced Robocop: The Series" and served as Executive Producer and/or Producer    on children's and animation projects including the theatrical feature, The Nutcracker Prince" and Eckhart the Series". Steven Hecht has written and produced the World Wrestling Federation Home Video Series and served as lead marketing executive on Charlton Heston Presents the Bible" and more than 70 video and television projects.
     Atomic Betty was negotiated for Phil Roman Entertainment by the company's Vice President, Rick Ramirez and for Breakthrough Films and Television by Nghia Nguyen, Vice President, Business and Legal Affairs.
