LAKSON TOBACCO COMPANY APPOINTS
THE PEPPER CORPORATION
October 2002
Following a thorough international search, The Pepper Corporation has been appointed by Lakson Tobacco Company to develop strategic brand work including the creation of a TV and cinema campaign for one of its major brands. Pepper fought off competition from several UK agencies.
Lakson is the largest tobacco company in Pakistan, with a market share of over 50% and is the largest division within parent company Lakson Group, which in turn is one of the larges companies in Pakistan.
90 second cinema ads and 60/45/30 second TV ads will break in November in Pakistan and run for a couple of months. Media planning and buying will be handled in-house by Lakson Tobacco.
Peppers new executive creative director, Steve Deput, and David Parker will head up the account. Parkers experience at Bates Vietnam handling tobacco clients, plus his local knowledge of Pakistan, having traveled through the country helped clinch the account.
Parker said: This is a great opportunity to create a world-class communication programme whilst ensuring empathy to the local market."
Shahid Ahmed Khan, Director Marketing and Sales at Lakson Tobacco said: Pepper demonstrated anability to fast-track the project along with an understanding of the issues we faced."
