DELBERT McCLINTON READIES NEW VIDEO "LONE STAR BLUES"

AUSTIN, Texas -- Delbert McClinton, whose brand new album Room To Breathe (New West) debuted on five Billboard charts (blues, country, pop, independent and Internet) and has attained the #2 spot on the Americana Airplay chart, will star in the forthcoming music video for "Lone Star Blues," a track from the new album.

The video features several special guests including Kix Brooks (Brooks & Dunn), Pam Tillis, Suzy Bogguss, Lee Roy Parnell, Bekka Bramlett, Jim Lauderdale, Jessi Alexander, producer Gary Nicholson, Jeffrey Steele, Billy Dean, Teresa Earnhardt (widow of late NASCAR champion Dale Earnhardt) and Rodney Crowell as the "Dude from Houston."

"Lone Star Blues" is an obstinately country, almost old-time honky-tonk anthem which Delbert wrote and sings from a thoroughly modern perspective -- a world of modern Texas, rife with development housing and billboards. To capture the old and new aspects of Texas in the song, the music video features elements that define a classic country video -- bar rooms, Western wear, and good-natured debauchery -- yet with a decidedly modern twist.

Delbert is seen as definitively Texan (he is, in fact, a native of the Lone Star state) -- tough, cool, wryly humorous and bearing under the heat and wild times with the sly grin of a true Western hero. As he tends a bar at a Texas honky-tonk, everybody at the bar (including the aforementioned guest artists) sings along with Delbert on the chorus.

Citing his honky-tonk roots, The New York Times recently wrote: "Delbert McClinton is the quintessential Texas roadhouse rocker, applying his well-traveled rasp to songs from the hard-loving intersections of blues, country and soul."

The video was directed by Michael McNamara for McCommera Filmworks, Inc. The clip will ship to television on October 28.
