             Celebrating the Witches New Year
A Pagan/Wiccan Samhain Celebration on Boston Common at the Parkman Bandstand on 10/31/02 at 8 PM.

Samhain (pronounced Sow-en), better known in modern times as Halloween, is the Witches New Year and is celebrated by people who practice the ancient Pagan religion and science of Wicca. Witches from the Boston area will gather on the Common to celebrate the New Year as well as honor past ancestors. The circle, as a religious celebration, is significant because it represents the ever-changing seasons and the cycle of life, death and rebirth. Samhain is the time that the veil between this world and the spirit world is the thinnest. The ritual is open and free to the general public.
