Glasgow, UK -- 23rd October 2002. Saw-You Ltd. a pioneer of advanced mobile messaging technologies, today announced the launch of its new consumer service which promises to revolutionise the future of messaging -- and meeting -- for mobile users worldwide.

Saw-You has created a unique mobile phone service, which lets people meet and message, without knowing each others phone numbers. This is an entirely new concept in mobile messaging, where to date, it has been necessary for the originator to know the mobile number of the recipient in order to send messages.

The Saw-You service is based on a system of physical appearance and location. Users input a description of their appearance and create a personal online avatar, a 'Weemee' which can be detailed enough to show what the user is wearing, drinking and any piercings they might have. Anyone who sees the user in a club, pub or gig can send messages to everyone matching that description. Alternatively, the user can send their description or Weemee to other users in the same location and see who wants to chat or meet.

The launch of the new Saw-You website is a major step forward in the evolution of the mobile messaging market. While the service works through SMS and WAP, the advent of Multimedia Messaging Services (MMS), which allows the exchange of pictures, sounds and animation is predicted to be one of the most significant new drivers of mobile usage over the next several years. While picture messaging is one of the most obvious uses for the new technology, services which build upon the new technology have not yet been created. Saw-You is one of the first services to incorporate MMS technology as one of the fundamental aspects of Communidating.
