AFTP, IRS, STATE COSPONSOR SEMINARS FOR TAX PREPARERS
Once again this year, New Jersey tax preparers can learn about new procedures, federal and state tax laws and regulations and discuss concerns at one-day Practitioners Institutes, sponsored by the Accounting, Financial and Tax Professionals of New Jersey, the state Division of Taxation and the Internal Revenue Service.

Once again this year, New Jersey tax preparers can learn about new procedures, federal and state tax laws and regulations and discuss concerns at one-day Practitioners Institutes, sponsored by the Accounting, Financial and Tax Professionals of New Jersey, the state Division of Taxation and the Internal Revenue Service.
Seminars are scheduled in eight locations and are geared toward the intermediate and advanced tax preparer. At each session, state and IRS consultants will ready participants for the 2002 tax season.
IRS consultants will discuss:
Ø IRS Key Messages (E-File/EFTPS, Exam and Collection Reengineering)
Ø Retirement Plans
Ø Sale of Personal Residence/Capital Gains
Ø 2002 Tax Law Changes
Ø Taxpayer Advocate Office
New Jersey Division of Taxation representatives will discuss:
Ø Sales Tax in Urban Enterprise Zones
Ø New changes for corporate business tax
Ø Income tax updates
Seminar dates and locations are:
Ø November 8 -- Atlantic County Community College, Mays Landing
Ø November 14 -- Montclair University, Montclair
Ø November 18 -- Rutgers University, Busch Campus, Piscataway
Ø November 20 -- Gloucester County College, Sewell
Ø November 23 -- County College of Morris, Randolph
Ø December 12 -- Kean University, Union
Ø December 13 -- Georgian Court College, Lakewood
Ø December 18 -- College of New Jersey, Trenton
Each session begins at 8:30 a.m. (except Montclair, which begins at 9 a.m.) and ends at 3:30 p.m., with registration beginning at 8 a.m. Participants are eligible for six continuing professional education (CPE) credits.
Preregistration cost is $90 if paid at least one week prior to the session; $15 for full-time students who present valid identification; $100 for attendees who pay at the door.
