Mobile Satellite Users Association Introduces New Membership Opportunities to Benefit the Rapidly Growing Number of Individual Mobile Satellite Users

Special Membership rates now available for individual end users to join MSUA, and to attend MSUA-3, the annual state of the industry" forum for mobile satellite users, suppliers and service providers

McLean, VA, U.S.A., October 25, 2002 -- In conjunction with its third annual conference and exhibition for the mobile satellite services industry, MSUA-3, the Mobile Satellite Users Association has introduced a new US$25/year membership rate for the growing number of individual end users of mobile satellite services. This opportunity marks the first time individual end users will be able to join MSUA, separate from any corporate or group membership.

Of the half a million mobile satellite terminals in use with the Inmarsat, Iridium, Globalstar, ACeS and Thuraya satellite systems, many are used by individuals, not companies, to maintain communications regardless of location, whether climbing Mount Everest, sailing the Mediterranean or traveling beyond the urban areas of Mexico," explained MSUA President Dr. Ahmad Ghais. To enable these users to learn about the all the new options and services that are or will soon be available to meet their needs for ubiquitous communications, we have now made it easy for them to join the Mobile Satellite Users Association -- the only association devoted exclusively to the mobile satellite services."

In joining MSUA, individual end-users of mobile satellite services will be entitled to attend MSUAs third international Conference & Exhibition, MSUA-3, on December 9-11, 2002, at sharply reduced rates. In addition, as MSUA members, they will receive a years subscription to MSUAs LINK Newsletter, as well as access to the member section of MSUAs award winning web site, the only site on the web devoted exclusively to mobile satellite issues.

MSUA-3 will feature leaders from key areas of the mobile satellite industry, who will focus on critical issues in the industry. Practical information will be presented on the

capabilities of current and future mobile voice, data and multimedia services. For example, in one session a group of some of the most prominent MSS providers will examine, from the users viewpoint, the MSS telephony services options available, including global geostationary (GEO) systems, regional (Super GEO) systems, and global low earth orbit (LEO) systems.

In addition, system operators, user terminal and handset manufacturers, and major distributors will be on hand to exhibit the many broadcast and Internet-related applications which are driving the growth in mobile satellite communications markets.

A special keynote address will be delivered by Vice Admiral Thad Allen of the U.S. Coast Guard.

The MSUA-3 conference, which will be preceded by an Inmarsat Mobile Services Workshop on December 9, will be held December 10-11, 2002 at the Sheraton
Crystal City located at 1800 Jefferson Davis Highway in Arlington, Virginia. This
venue is just minutes from Washington DCs Reagan National Airport and is very convenient to public transportation, many popular tourist attractions and shopping. MSUA has reserved a block of rooms at the hotel at discounted rates for MSUA-3 attendees and exhibitor personnel.

Inmarsat Mobile Services Workshop
The Inmarsat workshop on December 9 will showcase its enhanced mobile services and relevant applications for todays critical communications requirements. To ensure their participation in the Inmarsat Services Workshop, MSUA-3 attendees are encouraged to reserve free seats early by calling +1 202 624-1748.

It serves the interests of MSS users by fostering communications among and between MSS users, suppliers of MSS equipment and services, operators of MSS satellite systems, and the various entities that may affect the future of the industry. In addition, MSUA reviews, analyzes and reports on, from an MSS users perspective, the activities, regulatory decisions and critical
