The new SMC6709L2 intelligent standalone Fast Ethernet Switch packs eight auto-MDIX 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX ports, one 10/100/1000BASE-T port, and two fiber uplink slots into a compact 1RU-high form factor. One of its versatile uplink slots supports the addition of a 100BASE-FX SMF/MMF module via a SC/MT-RJ port; the other, a 1000BASE-SX/LX module. Clearly built for today but with an eye to the future, the SMC6709L2 is not just flexible but is also loaded with the kinds of features that make networks run smoothly, including flow control, 802.1Q VLAN port grouping, QoS, IGMP snooping, RMON, Port Mirroring, Spanning Tree support and more.
