Celebrity Author Dedicates Novel to Teen Fan

Film star and recording artist dedicates life story novel "My Fractured Life" to young fan.

Seventeen year old Claremont, CA teen Jeanna Marie Assman was inspired to embark on her own performing career after seeing national headliner Rikki Lee Travolta in a local appearance, now the high school senior is the subject of the dedication page of Travoltas newly published novel My Fractured Life."

Hes been my inspiration," said Assman in a 2001 interview with the Daily Bulletin.

In 1999 following the loss of her grandmother, Assman received a birthday present of tickets to a production of the musical West Side Story" starring Travolta in the lead role, which he had toured nationally in. Learning of Assmans birthday and recent loss through a note from her mother, Travolta brought the fan on stage after the performance and presented her with a bouquet of flowers.

I know what its like to need a new friend. Ive been there too," explains Travolta. The star continued to correspond with Assman thereafter, and would visit with her family whenever he was in town. He even made arrangements to accompany her to visit her grandmothers gravesite.

I have one of the pictures Jeanna drew of me framed and hanging on the wall of my home," says Travolta.

I have traveled all over the country playing to thousands of people a night, and I value every single one of those fans," says Travolta. But, I will always consider Jeanna Assman my number one fan." Which, is exactly what the dedication in his novel says.

My Fractured Life" is a behind the scenes look at a Hollywood stars fall from grace, struggles with addictions, and high profile relationship with one of the hottest diva-vixen singing sensations. The book is getting high praise.

Not since 'Postcards from the Edge has an author offered such a raw, unapologetic look at the seedy side of Hollywood," says Jordana Bieze, CMP Media. With the kind of insight that only comes from having been there, Rikki Lee Travolta takes a hard look at the search for sexual and spiritual identity that in part drives actors to do what they do, and the price they pay to succeed in doing it."

The comparisons to Carrie Fishers Postcards from the Edge" are common, and with good reason. Fisher achieved fame as an actress in the George Lucas directed Star Wars" movies, before writing her highly autobiographically-based fiction novel and embarking on a career as a highly touted screenwriter.

My Fractured Life isnt a biography, but there are elements of me in the book," explains Travolta of the similarity to Fishers biographically-inspired fiction work. You write what you know. Carrie Fisher and I both grew up in the entertainment industry. It stands to reason wed write about that world."

Travolta, like Fisher, is also gaining recognition as a screenwriter. Michael Dorn of the highly anticipated Star Trek Nemesis" movie is attached to direct and co-star in Travoltas Hero Before Dawn" about a science fiction thriller about a patriotic soldiers one-man war on terrorism. Ryan Saul of the Beverly Hills-based Preminger Agency is brokering the movie.

Rikki Lee Travolta is a very versatile writer," praises Kirk Landers, vice president and editorial director of James Informational Media. Labeled a Matinee Idol" by both the Chicago News Sun and The Lowdown, Travolta has been recently profiled by the NY Post, PeopleNews, Razor Magazine, Counting Down, Australias Dark Horizons, Shanghais Straits Times, and Spains Exclusivo!

Patriotism is more than just the theme of the Travolta/Dorn movie; its a cause that the 27-year old performer has put both his name and his wallet behind. Fifty percent of all of his profits from sales of the novel My Fractured Life" are going to the Rikki Lee Travolta American Hero Foundation, an organization he established after the September 11th tragedies.

Travolta also donates 50% of his earnings from the September 11th single Heros Lullaby" and the album of the same name to the foundation. The album is available at www.TravoltaNet.com.

But, long before it was made available to the public, the first person to receive an advance copy of Travoltas patriotic anthem Heros Lullaby"? Claremonts Jeanna Marie Assman, his number one fan.

My Fractured Life" by Rikki Lee Travolta (ISBN: 0-7414-1267-5) can be purchased directly at www.buybooksontheweb.com or by calling toll free: 1-877-BUY-BOOK. You can also request it at your local library or bookstore chain.

The author is happy to autograph copies as long as a self-addressed stamped return envelope is provided. Hes a star who clearly takes his fans to heart.
