ENERSYS INC. APPOINTS HENRY LAU AS GENERAL MANAGER SOUTH EAST ASIA

Reading, PA, October 2002 -- EnerSys Inc., the world-leading provider of stored DC power products, systems and services, today announced the appointment of Henry Lau as General Manager South East Asia. Henry reports directly to Jean-Luc Dubrulle, President Asia.

Lau has extensive experience in the battery industry serving most recently as the General Manager Sales for Exide Singapore PTE, Ltd. Prior to this, Lau held positions of increasing responsibility with GNB Technologies, Dresser-Rand and Westinghouse Industrial Services. Lau holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration from University of Surrey, England and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Australia.
