Startup Florida Launches Incubator for Early Stage Technology Companies

Incubator Represents First Phase of Startup Florida's Technology Growth Plan

Sarasota, Florida - 10/30/02 - Startup Florida today announced the opening of its incubator facility in Sarasota, Florida. The incubator will serve as a location for high-tech entrepreneurs to interact with like-minded individuals and develop their ideas into commercially viable ventures. As part of Startup Floridaˇ¦s initiative to drive the development of technology in the region, the incubator serves as the first phase of Startup Floridaˇ¦s technology growth plan.

Designed as a collaborative environment, the facility maximizes open spaces while supplying residents with the requisite professional amenities such as conference rooms, phone lines, and Internet connectivity. This structure promotes the organization of events and seminars, while also allowing residents to perform necessary business activities such as presentations and private strategy sessions.

"One of the primary goals of the incubator is to provide a location where entrepreneurs can plug-in", states Rich Swier, Startup Florida Managing Partner. "Whether that means working at the facility daily, participating in periodic events, or just seeking information on how to integrate into Floridaˇ¦s technology market, is up to the interests of the individual."

In addition to the physical amenities, Startup Florida is also able to provide strategic services such as:
