SEASIDE SOFTWARE TO DEMONSTRATE CLIENT SOFTWARE AIMED AT BRINGING SUB-SECOND PERFORMANCE TO LEADING ENTERPRISE APPLICATIONS

New Company Set to Demonstrate First Product Entry -- HiPerExchange -- At Telecom 2002

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Oct. 29, 2002 -- Seaside Software today announced that it will participate in Telecom 2002 and demonstrate its new approach and technology for accelerating the performance of important enterprise applications used over the Web to sub-second levels. Formed in late 2001 by a team of seasoned software development and marketing experts, Seaside is driven by the increasing market need for comparable performance and interchangeable functionality between major local applications and Web-enabled applications.

The company recently unveiled its first product --HiPerExchange -- client side software that summarily addresses the performance and usability challenges for millions of users of Microsoft Exchange. HiPerExchange is the only product available that delivers sub-second response time for MS Exchange users from any location, regardless of their connection. Seaside will demonstrate its new software at the Telecom 20002 (Booth 3 in Startups World) in Tel Aviv, Israel next week.

Seaside has attacked the challenging problem of achieving very high application performance over the Web with a pragmatic but strategic approach," said Peter Christy, principal at NetsEdge Research. Seasides first product -- HiPerExchange -- perfectly illustrates how enhanced performance can really improve the user experience for a broadly-used and highly-valuable enterprise application like Exchange without detracting from the functionality."

Seasides HiPerExchange is one of the most innovative Exchange solutions we have seen a while", said Michael Sampson, consulting analyst at Ferris Research, a leading market research firm specializing in messaging and collaboration.

We established Seaside Software because we had seen in many companies a fundamental need for greater quality and performance of Web applications -- particularly as the percentage of remote users within typical companies continues to rise beyond the 50 percent mark," said Seaside CEO David Butler. Our first goal was setting a new interactive performance benchmark for remote MS Exchange access and we have achieved that with HiPerExchange."

Seaside Software is led by a group of industry experts with extensive experience in Web architecture, WebDAV, Web security, HTTP and PC filesystems. The Seaside senior management team includes: David Butler, CEO, formerly of Inktomi; Moshe Raines, founder and chairman, who founded Vectop and was a principle of Teleknowledge and Starmedia; and Ittai Golde, CTO, who held senior research positions at IBM, AOL/Time Warner, and Ubique. The company has received funding from Israel Seed Partners and private investors.

Seaside Software is based in Redwood City, Calif. and can be contacted via the Web at: www.seasidesw.com
