The NERVOUS CABARET (www.nervouscabaret.com), playing in New York as a quartette, take highly eclectic influences extending from 70s London punk, devotional vocal styling and Django influenced rhythm guitar, and smash them together to create music which breaks apart the typical crossovers of Jazz and Rock music.

Well known in New York for his theatrical performances and described by one fan as royalty in dirty disguise", Elyas Khan, Nervous Cabaret front man, weaves a winding gothic-arched cobble stone path through the mind of the listener leading a journey to the underbelly of the city; be that London, New York, Bombay or Paris.

The Nervous Cabaret is Mathew Morandi (Contra bass), Fred Wright (Coronet), Brian Geltner (Timpani) and Elyas Khan (Guitar/Vocals).

The band leaves the descriptions of the music mainly to its fans:

Elyas is a mad drunken preacher"
(Dave Tianga -- Dirty Feet Productions)
Must be seen to be described... music to destroy bridges by. Theyll swallow your soul"
(Steven Kosloff -- Ghent Magazine)
This music is exotic and exciting... Ive never heard anything quite like it"
Like Nick Cave meets Tom Waits on E playing George Burns funeral"
(Fan quote)
