A 35 Year old man with severe MS creates a new business and fulfils a dream at the same time. Warren Horowitz of HIC Consultants (his own company) has created THE DISABILITY DATING NETWORK an internet site that addresses something no one else has yet in Canada.
Horowitz's idea is to start an Internet Dating site for his own community (the disabled). During a Market study he found that 64% of marriages where one spouse is chronically ill dont last.

| | - years ago Mr. Horowitz remembers losing his wife to another man. A man who had his health and a good job. On top of everything else, Warren, unable to work any longer, lost his own job. All of this happening over a short period of time leads to serious depression.

It's incredible he says, "I watch television ads every day showing healthy robust men and women, single, able bodied men and women having fun on dates, laughing, loving, getting married and living happily ever. And all this happens after meeting on the net. I signed up but who wants to go out with a guy in a wheelchair with no job? I signed up with a Premiere Service and had absolutely no responses. After a year I gave up. What was the point. There were no other members signed up who were disabled or challenged" Said Horowitz.
"That made me angry, "said Horowitz. He figured there must be thousands of people just like him out there. People who were lonely and had given up on life. That's when a magnificent obsession was born. Warren became obsessed with the idea of helping others in the same position as himself find each other. He vowed he wouldn't rest until the day came that every disabled, challenged person had a place to go to contact and meet others.
Warren took it upon himself to hire a Webmaster - Barker Systems in Barrie, Ontario to help him develop a Challenged Internet Site. He used the money he normally spends for food to help finance his enterprise. Warren worked feverishly living on Milk, Nutrient Shakes and close to 40 pills a day to help control the MS.
Warren hates that he got MS, but loves that he has it! "It's given me a completely different view of life that few people will ever experience. While sitting in my wheel chair I'm only 3 feet from the roses," he says while being interviewed from his electric wheel chair.
He is proud of what he accomplished while he was able to work... by the age of 25 he was the Director of Marketing for Citigroup Canada reporting directly to the CEO. Getting to work with marvelous people who became his Mentors was a thrill, people like Sanford Weill, Ed Cooperman, Past President of Amex Travel Division Worldwide and Glen Williams the Current Canadian CEO. From such a high Caliber of Business Exec's, Warren learned how to be able to communicate his ideas to his Webmaster well enough to create His Disability Dating Network site. Next he wants to start Motivational Sessions.
Horowitz, is a great communicator and enjoys Motivational stories. Currently he has his Marketing cap on and has started to get the word out, but so far only to a limited audience in and around Toronto, Canada. However this site was created for anyone everywhere.
"Why shouldn't I date somebody and maybe even get married. However, that LOOK you get in public, you know people trying so hard not to notice your disability, that you can't help noticing how uncomfortable they are in your presence," says Horowitz. It is that LOOK that spurred Warren on and pushed him to develop the site. The site that he expects to help him and thousand more just like him to find that special some-one.
Everybody loves to help the Challenged by writing about How to Date, what to say and what not to. Warren is so appreciative of monies raised by the different organizations. However no one has addressed the loneliness and desperation of someone who doesn't feel part of society. That's why the chat rooms on Warren's Disability Dating Network web-site alone are worth their weight in gold. When you chat with people who have gone through similar experiences to those you have, it's like looking in a mirror and finally realizing you're not alone.
Warren hopes to tell his beautiful, challenged friends in the disabled community that the time is here and now for us to communicate with each other, to live, make connections and let mother nature take her course. This is the year 2002 it's our time to shine all over the world!
Internet Site www.ddnet-network.com The Disability Dating Network is opened for business and now selling Franchises cheap enough he says that even someone with a disAbility could own one. Warren would love to give disabled folks a chance at life. Selling Love he can't think of a better job.
