MacRadio sends open call to anybody that might want a talk show
DALLAS, Texas--November 22, 2002--MacRadio today announced an open call for any talk show hosts whom have the desire and enthusiasm to broadcast their own talk radio show. Prospective radio hosts should commit to 8 weeks of shows provided either in live or recorded format addressing whatever topic(s) or themes they wish.
Show hosts are invited to propose their show to MacRadio (Rac enterprises) Management through an online form at http://www.macradio.com/pitch_me. Show hosts will be expected to develop the theme, get guests, procure equipment, develop individual show programs, and develop promotion for their shows. Rac enterprises management reserves the right to approve or refuse any content or proposal, either by individual show or whole concept, as it sees fit.
"With the announcement of Apple QuickTime Broadcaster, any 'everyday Joe' with a Mac, a microphone, and server and software can have a radio show. We decided it was time to remove the biggest hurdle from the equation, and offer the QuickTime Server as a service to the community," said Robert Aldridge, owner of rac enterprises' MacRadio. "We are excited to offer this service to the web market, and expect to see amazing new shows from interesting people, and we don't expect all shows to be talk oriented or Mac-specific."
With this introduction, MacRadio offers prospective radio hosts a wide range of topics and themes to choose from, as well as expanding from the format of 'Talk Radio.' Topics do not need to be Mac-specific to be included on the network, and show producers can choose to broadcast dramas, comedies, or any other form of radio they wish. (Due to the ensuing debate over music royalties, all-music radio formats will be denied at this time.)
The first new show under this service will begin when it is ready, but is expected around the beginning of 2003. New shows will be broadcast on Saturday or Sunday with few exceptions.
During the month of October 2002, MacRadio has announced a full schedule of talk radio content bringing Mac entertainment to users five nights a week. MacRadio's website makes finding and listening to a radio program as easy as loading a page, and listening to archives as easy as a click, or a download to a favorite portable MP3 device. Listeners can plan their listening habits by an easy to view schedule of each night from the MacRadio home page. MacRadio is committed to bringing the best Mac entertainment to its community from the best voices and minds around.
