Macrovision selected to protect SCi software

Leading games software publisher copy protects new products with SafeDisc® technology

London, UK - November 5, 2002 - Macrovision UK Ltd., a subsidiary of Macrovision Corporation (Nasdaq: MVSN) and the leading developer and supplier of digital rights management ("DRM") and copy protection products, today announced that SCi Games Ltd. (LSE: SEG), one of the longest established software publishers in the UK, has selected SafeDisc® to protect these hit software titles; "4-4-2", "Conflict: Desert Storm", which has reached number 1 in the UK 'All Formats Chart' and "Conflict: Desert Sabre".

Macrovision's SafeDisc technology provides a robust method to protect CD-ROM based software from unauthorised replication or copying, encouraging users to purchase authentic copies. SafeDisc is the world's most successful, effective and widely used copy protection solution for Windows® and Apple® Mac® platforms.

"We are able to secure our products and maximize our product revenues by using the power and flexibility of SafeDisc. We are pleased to employ the SafeDisc system of CD-ROM copy protection as it provides us with sophisticated tools to protect software functions and is well supported with regular signature updates from Macrovision," commented Jon Wild, operations manager for SCi.

"Macrovision is very pleased to be working with a British publisher of such a high caliber as SCi and we look forward to supporting their great range of software titles," added Martin Brooker, sales director of the Consumer Software Division of Macrovision EMEA. "Macrovision is the de facto standard for copy protection for packaged media with its SafeDisc CD-ROM product."

SCi chose SafeDisc after exhaustive testing for compatibility, ease of implementation and software support. The product excelled in all areas and distinguished itself from the competition in terms of development resources, availability and quality of local support, and regular feature and protection updates.
