Demand soars as Online Shopping sites prepare for Christmas Run-up
Statistics show online shopping is more popular than ever
The most recent figures from Internet monitoring indicate September's figures show UK based shopping sites accounted for more than 13% of total UK internet traffic.
At Topsite-Central.com we have already noticed an increase in shopping related searches.
However more and more internet companies will fail if they keep following the quick buck without giving proper thought to their customer relationships.
The increase in spam is directly proportional to the increased difficulty in getting sites listed in search directories.

Statistics recently reported that online sales in the UK rose by more than
42% in 2001. The most recent figures from Internet monitoring
company Hitwise UK indicate that e-commerce growth category traffic may be even stronger during 2002.
Already September's figures show UK based shopping sites accounted for more than 13% of total UK internet traffic.
As we get closer to Christmas this figure looks to be set to increase certainly well above the 12.8% reported for last year.
At Topsite-Central we have already noticed an increase in shopping related
Searches in the run-up to Christmas. Topsite-Central has a number of specialist directories for gifts and shopping and these are proving to be some of the most popular areas of the Topsite-Central.com directory.
As Claire Collier CEO of Topsite-Central pointed out "there is only a small window of opportunity to capitalise on this increased business if your advertising is not in place now there is a good chance you are already losing business"
She went on to say "all web-site managers need to think creatively, you will not stand any chance of getting your site/promotion listed in any of the big traditional search engines in time. Pay per click may work but already the popular key phrases are becoming prohibitively expensive"
When asked if she felt this was the death knell for the smaller internet entrepreneur her response was "definitely not but they (internet entrepreneurs) must get more creative, they must try Topsites, Ezines and sponsoring other smaller sites with good quality traffic.
She did issue this warning however "You can only survive on the Internet by working hard to give the customer what they want, good service, high quality and keen price.
More and more internet companies will fail if they keep following the quick buck without giving proper thought to their customer relationships.
The increase in spam is directly proportional to the increased difficulty in getting sites listed in search directories. Remember if a company doesn't respect its customers enough not to invade their privacy with unwanted spam then that company is probably not on you or I would want to deal with."
