Bridgewater Systems Integrates Suite of Access Control Products With Convergys Geneva Billing Solution

The integrated products will handle both IP mobile and land line services. The combined solution encompasses service definition, access control for users, the generation of billable events for network connectivity or content access, and the billing of these services in either a prepaid or postpaid mode.

Bridgewaters software enables service providers to differentiate access to wireline and wireless services based on the identity of the user or the application, solving problems such as how to comprehensively account and track for services and prevent unauthorized access.

Convergys Geneva billing solution reduces time to market and achieves cost efficiencies through highly configurable applications rather than time-consuming or costly customizations.

Bridgewater has created an access control product suite that uniquely identifies end users so that they can be matched against a list of services tailored to their interests. As the services are consumed, the Bridgewater platform produces and correlates accounting records to enable the usage to be captured in a bill. For pay per use, as with games and some content, Bridgewaters Content Access Controller provides advice of charge messages to users data terminals. Further, to meet the growing demand for prepaid data services in the mobile world, Bridgewater products can now work with users prepaid accounts in the Geneva platform to draw down on account balances as data services are consumed, and to manage the termination of services when the accounts are empty.

The integrated capabilities with Convergys Geneva billing solution are available with Bridgewaters suite of products as a new optional connector component.
