Steve Forbes, President and CEO of Forbes, Inc. and Liu HongRu, founding Chairman of China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) will address a crowd of over 2,000 Chinese executives during the three-day conference. Mr. Forbes and Mr. Liu are exemplary businessmen and politicians and I am pleased that they will join us at our first annual World Capital Forum," said Angel Wang, the Executive Director of U.S. Organizing Committee for the WCF.
Mr. Liu HongRu, known as the father of Chinas financial markets, said, This will be one of the largest gatherings of Chinese and American financiers and businessmen in China who will work hand in hand to bring western capital to Chinas most promising enterprises."
The WCF is made possible through the sponsorship of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), China Capital Market Association, US-Asia Capital Association (USACA) and the Nanjing Municipal Government. Attendees will be executives of large and emerging growth Chinese companies that are seeking to raise foreign capital, and are considering listing their shares on overseas exchanges. Attendees will also include private investors, investment bankers, legal and accounting experts, and leaders from the academic world.
The Forums Organizing Committee has chosen the city of Nanjing, provincial capital of Jiangsu, as the location for the first annual conference because of its exciting industrial strength and the success of its current East-West ventures. Its strategic location makes Nanjing the second busiest international commercial port after Shanghai in the Yangtze River Delta. Ten percent of China's GDP is generated in Jiangsu, and a full quarter of China's GDP is produced in its surrounding area. Jiangsu Province also leads all provinces in China in foreign trade volume, foreign direct investment (FDI) inflow and overseas investment outflow. Today, about 20% of all U.S. investments in China, including 110 of the Fortune 500 companies, can be found in Jiangsu.
The World Capital Forum hopes to offer its participants an informative and exciting experience, with world class speakers, essential information, valuable relationships and a blossoming 21st century city.
