First, let me thank you for your attention. My is Desiree Dagher and I have written and published: The At-Home Medical Transcriptionist: From Start to Success. I want you to know that this is truly no gimmick. In fact, that is exactly why I wrote this book. You see, I was one of those who believed that I needed schooling to be an At-Home Medical Transcriptionist. I paid $800.00 to do an at-home course and the only thing that I received was a certificate of completion and I really did not learn anything. When I finished the course the school told me to call anytime I would need to and I did, alot, but it would takes days for them to call me back. When starting on your own, you need answers and you will need them now. I had to find everything out for myself, but I did and now I just want to give Medical Transcription to the world. When I started, I could only type 25 wpm and I had no medical background what so ever, but I did it and I believe anyone can do it, if that is their desire.

I have been working on my own now since 1997 and I love it. It is so liberating and believe me when I say this, I am only working pt and I make more money than I have ever made in my whole life. I daily turn down offers from clients looking for transcription, I just do not need to take their offers-so there is such a great need for it.

There are so many reasons to work at-home: Home schooling, being your own boss, having more time for family and the clients love it because they do not have to pay social security taxes for another employee.

I wrote this book to cover all the questions that one would come up with while getting started. I tell you in the book how to get your first clients without any investment, how to do the work (including examples of actual transcription), how much to charge (each state is different) and have provided examples of invoices. I tell how to pay your taxes and what is deductible and I have included all the resources necessary to get started. I tell secrets about how to type without actually typing, but rather keyboarding to save oodles of time. I have testimonies on the back cover from friends of mine, who I selflessly gave this information to and are working in transcription today. Inside I talk about what equipment you need and how to save you lots of money and there is just so much more!

Although, my guide was offered to be published, I have decline publishers (not so generous) offers, especially after reading the nine-page contracts they give you to sign. I have ventured out on my own and have published it myself.
