WALTHILL SENIOR ADMITTED TO NATIONAL HONOR ROLL
Amelia Bird of the Omaha tribe one of nation's top 4.5% high school students

WALTHILL, NE --- Amelia Bird, a senior at Walthill Public School, last week received notice she has been admitted to the National Honor Roll.
According to Lynn Romeo, the Student Nomination Committees chairperson, Amelia was selected because of her outstanding academic performance." A member of Junior Honor Society and National Honor Society since the seventh grade, her current GPA is 3.83.
Amelias name and biography will be published in the 2002-03 National Honor Roll. This will make her eligible to contend for one of 25 scholarships
awarded annually by the Educational Research Center of America. In addition, colleges, Gov. Mike Johanns, and local newspapers will also be notified.
Amelia, who is a member of the Omaha tribe, plans to go to college and become a computer animation artist. Her work has been featured in local and national newspapers, as well as on Walthills cable access channel 18 and the Cartoon Networks Toonami" program.
Being published is an honor Amelia will share with only about 4.5% of all High School Students," Romeo stated.
