Plunky & Oneness' New Release In Heavy Demand At Radio Worldwide

"Plunky & Oneness," a cross genre (Nu Soul/Jazz/RnB) act, is experiencing its fastest success, at both radio and print sectors, as a result of its latest release.

RICHMOND, Virginia - - November 8, 2002 - - N.A.M.E. Brand Records recording artist, Plunky & Oneness, a dynamic and versatile music group performing R&B, Funk, Jazz and African and World music, has recently released its 17th recording titled, "Got to Move Something," a double CD that also includes a live concert recording in Atlanta.

The first single, "Will You Smile," has already attracted major attention by radio music directors and programmers worldwide, and is successfully being added daily to a number of play lists. Additionally, and as a result, influential leading print media have begun requesting promotional copies for artist interviews and reviews as well.

To date, the group has toured Europe, performed at numerous festivals and appeared with some of the biggest names in popular music, which include; Patti LaBelle, BB King, Ray Charles, Roy Ayers, Najee and many others. Most recently, the act performed at the 2002 National Black Arts Festival in Atlanta, Georgia.

Interestingly, band leader James "Plunky" Branch, has a different bit of notoriety in that he was also the smooth-styled saxophonist heard on the music tracks during scene segues on "The Cosby Show."

When asked about an upcoming world tour in support of the new release that is being added to station rosters at a feverish pitch, Plunky says, "I think that the tour will start after the first of the year, as I am planning to play in London on January 17 & 18, and then take the band to do a showcase in Cannes, France during the week of MIDEM. When we come back from that, we should be gearing up for February dates and touring in March."

If you have not had an opportunity to be exposed to this incredibly creative and diversified act that puts the "fresh" back in refreshing, please make it a point to do so at your earliest opportunity.
