Frustrated parents, teachers and mental health professionals now have an online resource available to answer their questions about attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.
ADD Consults, re-launched October 2002 at www.addconsults.com with expanded services, is the first online AD/HD clinic offering private consultations with top experts in the world.

People from Dallas to Japan, to the Virgin Islands wonder if their distractibility, messiness and procrastination issues could be more than personality traits", says Terry Matlen, ACSW, founder and director of ADD Consults. Many people just dont have access to local clinicians who are ADD 'savvy, so Im able to give some direction, help them find an expert in their area, or offer them the opportunity to consult with one online".

Matlen, a psychotherapist, lecturer and vice-president of the Attention Deficit Disorder Association (ADDA), founded ADD Consults in 2000, in response to the hundreds of emails she received over the years, from people across the globe asking for her help.

I wanted to develop a 'one-stop-shop so people could find everything they needed in one location, without having to spend hours jumping from one website to another", Matlen adds.

Visitors have access to ADD coaches available for immediate hire; updated articles on research, treatment and medications; upcoming AD/HD related events, and even an online art gallery, showcasing the artistic talents of visitors interested in sharing their work.

There are further plans to offer online conferences, expand its online store, and increase services to professionals in the field. Visitors can now subscribe to a free e-newsletter, which is available on the website.
