CALIFORNIA BAY AREA COMPANY UpBeats.com was the first ecommerce site in history to be specially
coded for accessibility by disabled persons using adaptive hardware and
software (page reading software, hot key or voice systems, etc).
Disabled persons cannot access popular sites like Ebay, Amazon, AOL,
Microsoft, and many others. UpBeats.com was not only the first to be
compliant with the "Bobby" test by Center for Applied Special
Technologies and the "HTML Validator" test by the World Wide Web
Consortium, we were also the first to achieve the highest level (Level
3).
We took that experience, along with insights and feedback from our beta
testers with disabilities, and created UpBeats.net, the Internet's first
disability accessible web hosting company.
After the recent introduction of our Genesis system which allows users
to design entire multiple page websites with only a browser and no HTML
or programming, we have now come to the final milestone: A web authoring
system that is not only accessible, but it CREATES Level 3 accessible
sites.
By designing custom templates for our Genesis system, A DISABLED PERSON
CAN CREATE LEVEL 3 ACCESSIBLE WEB SITES with no HTML or programming and
using only a browser. As we now proudly say, "The blind REALLY CAN lead
the blind at UpBeats.net".
We are proud of our accomplishment and will continue to refine it and
level the playing field for disabled and non-disabled users alike. Feel
free to visit www.upbeats.net - the full press release will be up
shortly for those who feel this information would benefit the community.
