The Music City Blues Society sponsored awards event, a fund raiser held on Sunday, November 10th for the nonprofit organization, provided Stacy Mitchhart the 2002 "Bluesey Awards" for: Blues Entertainer of the Year, Male Blues Vocalist of the Year, Blues Guitarist of the Year, and Electric Blues Act of the Year.

NASHVILLE, TN -- November 10, 2002 -- Stacy Mitchharts Soul/Blues sound was honored at Nashvilles 3rd Annual Music City Blues Society Bluesey Awards" Ceremony. The guitarist and singer-songwriter won multiple awards at the Sunday, November 10th celebration. A fixture of the Nashville Blues Music Scene since the mid 90s and a native of Cincinnati Ohio, Stacy Mitchhart received recognition from Blues Music Lovers from around the world in this years online and mail-in balloting. Stacy Mitchhart wins the Societys 2002 Awards for: Blues Entertainer of the Year, Male Blues Vocalist of the Year, and Blues Guitarist of the Year. Additionally, as Band Leader for Blues-U-Can-Use, comprised of six other musicians, Stacy Mitchhart is recognized as Electric Blues Act of the Year. Im thrilled to have won", says Stacy. We will proudly display the award trophies at the club, right beside Bourbon Streets Blues Foundation award."

The Bluesey Awards come on the heels of an exciting phase in Stacys career. After several years as the featured performer at the Bourbon Street Blues and Boogie Bar on Nashvilles historic Printers Alley, the club was named in 2000 as Blues Club of the Year" in association with the Blues Foundations Keeping the Blues Alive" Awards Program. February 2001 marked the official release of Stacys 4th CD, entitled What I Feel", to worldwide airplay and included sales at the major online CD sales sites, Amazon.com and CD Baby.com. In February 2002, the CDs mix of soul/blues and contemporary jazz flavored originals, with guest musicians including Chester Thompson on drums (Genesis, Zappa, George Duke, Freddie Hubbard), was placed in a Fan Poll for visitors to the award winning New York Blues and Jazz Society web site. What I Feel" was subsequently voted the Fan Favorite 2001 CD", beating out many nationally renowned artists that received airplay in the NY metropolitan area in the same time frame. A highly anticipated follow-up CD by Stacy Mitchhart and Blues-U-Can-Use is in the pipeline, being readied for release. A mini touring schedule in the northeast is currently being finalized for the latter part of January 2003, to be expanded upon as the year progresses.

The Bluesey Awards are sponsored by the Music City Blues Society which donates the proceeds of the awards celebration to benefit the local Blues In Schools / Blues In The Library Programs, one of the strongest programs of its kind in the country due to the committed leadership and member-base of the Nashville-area Blues Music Community.
