Author Announces the Completion of New Novel - Heartwarming Tale will Change How the World Views the Mentally Challenged

Danville, CA -- November 15, 2002 M. Ray Nyden announces the completion of his latest book, Tylers Creek. The story of Grover, the mentally challenged protagonist and hero, is touching and beautifully told.

Set in the heart of Central Pennsylvania, the story opens with Grover anxiously phoning for help to save the breaking flood control dam where he works. As he waits, he recollects his life, the struggles hes overcome, the very special friendships hes made, and ultimately, his triumphs. It is a complex tale told simply with a surprising twist at the end.

According to Mr. Nyden, During the two years I worked on Tylers Creek, Grover became part of me, changed me. I love Grover. And my hope now is to reach the mainstream market so that the Grovers in every community can be recognized and loved for who they are."

Tylers Creek is original in voice and topic. According to Matthew Tracey, an early reviewer whose brother is severely handicapped, ...The really amazing thing is that this isnt a book about someone who is mentally challenged. It is a book about all of us, our outlook, our dignity, and ultimately, our humanity..."

Mr. Nydens goal now is to encourage a literary house to publish the work by appealing to the public to express interest. You can read excerpts of Tylers Creek and support this effort by visiting the website http://www.mraynyden.com or by contacting the author directly at Ray@mraynyden.com.
