First Ever Bay Area PFP Search Engine Launched

Bay Area Bullet Offers a Combination of Meta Search And Pay For Performance Results for the Nine-County San Francisco Bay Area

San Francisco, CA US --(November 15, 2002)--
Bay Area Bullet has officially launched a regional search engine specifically designed to serve Bay Area residents. Unlike national search engines, Bay Area Bullet focuses on the Nine-county, San Francisco Bay Area, providing consumers with access to highly targeted search results, which include local businesses and websites.

The site, located at http://www.bayareabullet.com has undergone live beta testing since September, and offers local users a variety of tools and services such as searches, classifieds, discussion and news. Founder Martin Manzo said about the new search engine: "we are excited to officially unveil the Bay Are Bullet to the public. Our aim is to make using the Bullet fun and enjoyable, and most importantly, useful. We provide users with world-class internet tools to help them uncover information, goods and services both at home and abroad."

How does Bay Are Bullet Work?

When a visitor performs a search at Bay Area Bullet, they are actually searching 10 search engines at the same time. Using the power of Meta Searching, Bay Area Bullet sends the search request to nine of the Internet's top search engines at the same time. Then, it scans its own database to find local results that also match the user's request, adding more relevant results to the mix. The results of the ten searches are then blended together, duplicates removed, then sorted in order of relevancy with local results from the Bay Area placed on top, all within a few seconds.

Unique Opportunity for Bay Area Businesses

Bay Area Bullet enables website owners from around the Bay Area to bid against their competitors on keywords and phrases relevant to their site. The pay-for-performance system gives local advertisers control over their marketing cost since they only pay when a lead is delivered. Site reviewers ensure advertisers only bid on relevant keywords, so that consumers receive listings that exactly match their request. Paid listings from local websites are shown first, followed by results from the major search engines. The position of advertisers' listing is determined by their bid amount. The higher they bid, the higher their site lists in the search results page. Thus leads are more likely to convert into business than with any other medium, making Bay Area Bullet 100% cost-effective for advertisers.

The Bay Area region is renowned as the birthplace and worldwide center of high technology. With a population of over 7 million, three metropolitan centers - San Francisco, San Jose and Oakland - and nine counties, it represents one of the world's great regional economies. This combination of a high household income, rich business environment, and the fact it's one of the most wired places in the USA, makes it a perfect place to promote any type of web-based enterprise.
