Online reservations system supplier, 4oceans has continued its expansion plans by opening a new office in Shanghai to handle business directly from the south of China.
The premises will house a call centre for users of the multilingual booking channel and provide agents with a direct reservation service to all affiliated hotels in the country on the 4oceans platform.
It was proving to very difficult to handle a country the size of China in one location," admitted Managing Director, David Yates.
"Opening a base in Shanghai is a critical part of our armoury going forward and allows us to provide a more seamless operation by offering a wider choice of hotels, as well as the expertise and presence of our staff based locally."
The move follows a period of rapid growth for the company from its Beijing base and is part of a long-term plan to open premises in other provinces of the country such as Guang Zho and Chong Quing.
4oceans is now the largest online electronic distribution channel in China with a growing portfolio of over 1000 affiliated hotels.
