Share360 Version 2.0 Collaboration Suite is the First Step Towards Product Globalization
Cybozu uses Basis Technology to move towards International Versions of its Web-based Groupware
SAN FRANCISCO, California (PRWEB) November 16, 2002 - Cybozu Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Cybozu, Inc., the market leader in the Japanese office collaboration software arena, today announced that Share360 version 2.0, its next generation collaboration suite, demonstrates not only major new functionality and enhancements throughout the suite, but is a major step towards internationalization.
Cybozu globalized Share360 version 2.0 by incorporating Basis Technology's Rosette Core Library for Unicode, a development framework for building global platforms that can operate in any language. Basis Technology is a leading provider of products and services for globalization based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, with a branch office in Tokyo.
"Our mission as a company is to enable our customers to conquer new geographical markets," said Carl Hoffman, CEO, Basis Technology. "Were very pleased to have played a role in helping Cybozu prepare Share360 for global distribution."
The Unicode implementation allows users of the Share360 version 2.0 Suite to view and use international characters, such as Japanese, German, or Spanish characters within a single environment. Therefore, our customers' Japan and German offices can collaboration on the same system in different languages. If customers are using Unicode, they will be able to read and write in international characters within Share360.
"Unicode allows us to make a bold step towards offering truly internationally capable products, so offices around the world can collaborate efficiently and productively," says Hiroki Akimoto, Director of Engineering at Cybozu Corporation.
In addition to Unicode implementation, the Share360 Version 2.0 Suite is time zone enabled, so companies or individuals within the workgroup can manage their Share360 access in any time zone worldwide. This setting allows users to view schedules, deadlines, message time stamps, etc. in the appropriate time zone. As well, users can sync their schedules and other time zone sensitive data with their Palm OS(R) device or Pocket PC, allowing true international mobilization.
Share360 Version 2.0
Share360 version 2.0 integrates 12 productivity/communication applications that together create a "ready-to-run" Intranet solution that allows groups remote access to information such as email, schedules, contacts, announcements, shared files, company forms and projects. The product is multi-platform and runs on Windows, Linux and FreeBSD and is known for its ease of use and installation in minutes. It is centrally managed on the customer's web server and is accessible from client PCs with any operating system through a Web browser.
