Operating in 802.11a mode, the new dual band PCI card supports data rates as high as 54 Mbps -- doubling its speed to 108Mbps in Turbo Mode. When placed in an 802.11b-compliant network, the SMC2302W adapts automatically, and connects using its standards-compliant 802.11b mode to operate at speeds up to 11 Mbps. A system administrators dream, the new 2.4GHz/5GHz Universal Wireless PCI Card comes with an EZ Installation Wizard that makes driver and utility installation a breeze; a site survey utility that displays a listing of all available wireless access points on the network, and the ability to create and save multiple profiles for different wireless LAN settings.
