The complexity of the Insurance products, the sophistication of the users, the intense competition and the sheer growth in the number of players have all combined to force Insurance Brokers to redefine the way they plot their business towards achieving newer levels of effectiveness and efficiency. Designed to help the brokers in this endeavor, BrokerConnect contains all the functionality required for sophisticated General and Life broking Operations and is designed as a 'one-stop, integrated solution, obviating the need for implementation of disparate and disjoint systems for quotation processing, claims, financial accounting, client Management etc. BrokerConnect has been developed using Oracles Developer Suite of Products and Java and is designed to run on the powerful Oracle Database 8i; it is extremely scalable and can be implemented on a variety of hardware platforms (HP, SUN, Compaq etc.) and Operating systems (Unix, NT etc).

BrokerConnect has a very unique 'component design. This design allows users to create new lines of business with extreme ease. Product information can be defined uniquely for every Insurer with whom the Broker has a relationship using the Product definition module. BrokerConnect Product creation and maintenance function is designed to address the flexibility and sophistication that the market has come to expect from risk managers and intermediaries. The quotation generation in BrokerConnect is an intuitive process. Based on the information fed into it --quotations are automatically generated with premium, taxes, brokerage and other data. This is done using the easy to maintain, alter and modify premium and computation rules maintained within BrokerConnect for various insurers. The extremely powerful claims management function provides sophisticated recording, validation, tracking and follow-up features. An Insurance Brokerage organisation is only as effective as the level of service that it is able to bring to its clients. All core inter-departmental functions in BrokerConnect and linkages with Insurers, Clients and other Agents and sub-agents are carried out through the medium of rule based alerts and workflow messages. This ensures that not only are internal controls automatically evaluated, but even value add functions -- such as responding to a Client query, cross selling, sending a proposal to an Insurer etc -- are carried out based on user definable rules. Financial Accounting engine acts as a Central Repository for information from all the front and back office modules, supporting multiple currencies, exchange rate and generates Analytical, aged statement of Account for various counter-parties. BrokerConnect Investment is a sophisticated Fund management facility with very extensive analytical capability. In order to help Agents and Brokers, BrokerConnect comes equipped with an Illustration module. This function allows Clients to first be assessed as to their risk preferences and based on their risk profile, to be offered a choice of Insurance policies of various types. BrokerConnect Diary predefines when specific activities need to be performed. Users will know exactly what needs to be done next or in a certain time frame, such as chasing a quote. BrokerConnect has a very powerful security layer, which governs and administers user access. A roaming consultants team has been relocated from Singapore and stationed in India, to provide presale and post sale support and take charge of rapid implementation of the solution.
