Foreign Alphabet Soup for the Native Tongue
An easy and fun way to teach children foreign languages

ST. ALBANS, WEST VIRGINIA -- When author Annette Freys daughter Simone was only 13 months old, she could already speak three languages, namely English, French, and German. Now that she is more than two years old, Simone uses all three languages interchangeably and is in the process of learning her fourth language, Spanish. Impossible? Frey doesnt think so. In her new book Alphabet Soup Foreign Language Game Book K-12: Monolingual-Friendly, Frey reveals the secret of learning and teaching foreign languages the easy way.

An effective guide for teaching English, French, Spanish, and German, Alphabet Soup is a compendium of more than 100 common childrens games (yes, games!) that will help children gain mastery of foreign dialects. Frey has included these games as part of her books activities, because she believes they are necessary for the children to learn, and at the same time, enjoy. Aside from common games such as Heads Up," Around the World," and Mother May I," Alphabet Soup also contains simple matching vocabulary card games, numerous crafts and cultural holiday activities, and childrens songs in foreign languages.

What sets Alphabet Soup apart from other books of its kind is the fact that parents, teachers, and instructors do not necessarily have to know a second language to use it. Moreover, readers find ease in following the books simple instructions. They will discover that with Alphabet Soup, teaching foreign languages has never been easier.

Author Annette Frey has fifteen years of experience teaching French, Spanish, and English as a Second Language and intends to further her career as a writer/educator. She holds a Masters degree in Education and English as Second Language from West Virginia University. Coming from a multicultural background, Frey hails from a family (extended members included) that speaks nine languages coming from four continents of the world. With her husband and two children, Frey currently resides in St. Albans, West Virginia, where she teaches Spanish at West Virginia State College.
