CubeSmart, Inc Launches Their Office Productivity Tools

Ft. Worth, TX and Las Vegas, NV -- November 19, 2002 -- CubeSmart, Inc. announces the Optimum Productivity Solution" has been launched. The official release has commenced with the roll-out of their website, www.cubedoor.com. The product launch shifts to Las Vegas on Wednesday, November 20 at Comdex.

The products, CubeDoor Classic and CubeBanner, are designed to enable office workers under a tight schedule to communicate their unavailability with an integrated door that pulls open and latches across their cubicle opening. The products attach to the cubicle frame in seconds using the CubeClamp technology.

CubeSmarts Chief Marketing Officer and Co-founder, David Vaughan exclaimed, The demand for our product from employees has exceeded our expectations, but what really has us pleased is the inquiries we are getting from the corporate human resource departments searching for ways to improve productivity." CubeSmart has promoted this by offering several white papers (available on their website), which addresses the loss of productivity related to social interruption.

Corporate leaders are aware that the CubeSmart® CubeDoor and CubeBanner products will be proliferating throughout their buildings and are looking at this as an opportunity to create some uniformity by having their logo emblazoned on the products. These products are light-years ahead of traditional methods of privacy, which include yellow police tape, moving furniture in the doorway, or even erecting shower curtains.

Studies show that an interruption in the work environment has an impact on productivity that goes far beyond the actual elapsed time of the interruption. Broken concentration leads the interrupted employee to prolong the break, and focus on tasks of lesser priority such as email, return phone calls, and any number of tasks on their "to do" lists, before returning to the original task.

Bob Schmidt, CEO of CubeSmart, Inc., sees this as an opportunity for assisting employees and employers alike to subtly address the age-old issue of controlling office interruptions without mandating policy. "This is a low-tech solution to a low-tech problem primarily impacting highly paid high-tech employees," says Mr. Schmidt. If a $60k per year worker is able to mitigate a single 30-minute interruption, then the product has paid for itself."
