EMERGENCY RESPONSE 2002 SLATED TO ADDRESS HOMELAND DEFENSE, TERRORISM
(November 21, 2002) Potomac, Maryland -- Reflecting the worldwide fight against terrorism and Americas increasing need to protect the homeland, Rotor & Wing magazine's annual EMERGENCY RESPONSE 2002 conference will feature an expanded series of events dedicated to terrorist response and preparedness. This conference also will feature a greater emphasis on the cutting-edge technologies employed by airborne law enforcement agencies, from forward-looking infrared (FLIR) to state of the art avionics.
Other features will include:
· An EXPANDED series of events dedicated to all aspects of counter-terrorism response and preparedness highlighted in the conference sessions and exhibit hall.
· A greater emphasis on the cutting-edge technologies employed by airborne law enforcement agencies, from forward-looking infrared (FLIR) to state of the art avionics.
· State of the art response techniques for responding to biochemical and nuclear attacks on large civilian populations.
· Demonstrations including the Erickson S-64 Air-crane Helitanker, and U.S. Coast Guard simulations of different rescue techniques using a helicopter and motor lifeboat.
· A tour of the U.S. Coast Guard Mayport Facility.
· The annual Helicopter Heroism Award Banquet and Ceremony recognizing and honoring the crew of Austin-based STAR Flight for their heroic efforts during a search and rescue mission.
· Helicopter Underwater Escape Training and Certification presented by Learn to Return.
· New techniques for responding to biochemical and nuclear attacks on large civilian populations.
· NEW Static Display area featuring eight helicopters provided by companies such as Bell Helicopter, Bell/Agusta, Eurocopter, AgustaWestland and FH1100 Manufacturing Corp. On display will be helicopters used for firefighting, search and rescue, border patrol and water rescue.
This is the only conference and exhibition focused on keeping emergency response professionals up-to-date with the latest advancements, training, methods and equipment for saving lives. Panel discussions will focus on several timely matters, such as homeland defense and terrorism response, and will feature representatives from the U.S. Border Patrol, the U.S. Coast Guard, the National Guard, the military services, airborne law enforcement departments, air ambulance operators, firefighting units, and a host of other relevant entities.
