Graphic design firm Brian Sooy & Co. has been recognized as the top emerging business in the Lorain, Erie and Huron county region in "The Golden 30: Growing Companies Demonstrating World-Class Performance" awards program.

Graphic design firm Brian Sooy & Co. has been recognized as the top emerging business in the Lorain, Erie and Huron county region in "The Golden 30: Growing Companies Demonstrating World-Class Performance" awards program.

Sponsored by The Morning Journal, Lorain County Community College, Lorain National Bank, and Barnes Wendling CPAs Inc., this program recognizes the top 30 emerging and established businesses in Lorain, Erie and Huron counties(Ohio) that demonstrate world-class performance, based on a five-year average of sales and employment growth.

Brian Sooy & Co. ranked first among the 15 emerging businesses (businesses 15 years and younger) based on these criteria, having been nominated as a finalist for the second year in a row. In 2002, the company ranked fourth among the emerging companies.

Don Zwilling, director of Barnes Wendling CPAs, commented in his presentation of the award to Brian Sooy: "If your company is looking for premium graphic design, there's no reason to go to Cleveland to find a company to meet your needs... Founded in 1995, Brian Sooy & Co. has grown in the past 7 years to four employees, and transitioned from a SOHO (small office, home office) to its current 1100 sq. ft. office, with plans to expand into a 2100 sq. ft space by the first quarter of 2003. Continued growth into new areas of creative services that integrate with and complement existing services allows the firm to continually produce award-winning graphic design, marketing, web site development, and interactive CD-ROM projects for regional and national clients.
