Volvo IT decided on RAV AntiVirus

'Project Schools' will provide AV protection to mail clients used by over 200,000 students in Sweden. After testing several solutions chosen from the best, Volvo IT decided on RAV AntiVirus.

Starting with October 2002, Volvo Information Technology AB (Volvo IT) is implementing RAV AntiVirus for Mail Servers to schools in Sweden. This is a part of a process of developing a commercial project aiming at providing Swedish Schools and students with an operational computing platform. The entirety of the installation will be operated and supported by Volvo IT, from its headquarters in Gothenburg, Sweden.

The main feature of this computing environment is that it intends to supply the students with a wide choice of applications as well as an easy access to computer-based communication. E-mail is of course of the essence when it comes to computer communication; anti-virus questions, as a corollary of electronic mail, naturally came into focus. After testing several solutions chosen from the best, Volvo IT decided on RAV AntiVirus.

The entirety of the installation will be operated and supported by Volvo IT and the mail servers located in Gothenburg will filter and guard form electronic threats the mail traffic generated.
