Matrix & On The Wall Establish Youth Advisory Board

For Immediate Release

Toronto, Canada -- Content producers matrix produxions and On The Wall have brought together six (6) higher educational students in the fields of journalism, television and business to establish the Matrix Youth Advisory Board (YAB). This board will provide knowledge, expertise, input and feedback referencing all programming content creation and development that matrix and On The Wall team to co-produce and distribute through multi-platform delivery venues: television, new media convergence, Web and wireless.

Comments, Jill A. Mackie, Executive Producer of matrix produxions, "If you are going to create relevant programming content for the 18-25 target demographic, you must go to the 'Source' for information and knowledge. Moreover, directly involve the 'Source' in the creation and development stages of these program concepts. Youth Advisory Board members are fully empowered to make decisions and choices reflective of the overall direction of youth programming that matrix and On The Wall co-produce. This is about youth creating and developing programming for youth." YAB members are already researching a programming concept that will be pitched to broadcasters in early 2003. Continues Mackie, This is an advisory board that is run by its members, not the hierarchy of a corporation; it's about team empowerment. Members will groupthink, conclude, research and develop ideas. YAB members are visionaries who fully participate and contribute to the Companys divisional youth programming initiatives at all levels."

Additionally, when projects move into the research and development (R&D), production and post production stages, qualified advisory board members are invited to partake in these phases in employment positions.

YAB members:

Anchel Ghai, Chair - 4th Year Broadcast Journalism Student, Ryerson University

Anthony Dimilta, Vice Chair - 3rd Year Radio and Television Arts Student, Ryerson University

Dallas Luther - 1rst year Radio and Television Arts Student, Ryerson University

Merrick McKay - 4th Year Broadcast Journalism Student, Ryerson University

Sonia Sethi - 3rd Year Business Administration student, Schulich School of Business, Canada

Elena Yu - 3rd Year Radio and Television Arts Student, Ryerson University

Comments YAB Chair, Anchel Ghai, Today's youth are highly conscious of the issues and events taking place around them. matrix is a company, which through its youth programming division targets these interests. The Youth Advisory Board ensures that matrix and On The Wall programming is current, contemporary and relevant to youth, as well as a larger demographic (18-49). Today's students are highly creative individuals. The Youth Advisory Board gives students a chance to further their interests in a real-world work setting, and see these interests come into fruition. As Chair of the Youth Advisory Board, I am lucky to work for a company that values my thoughts and creativity, and strives for content of only the highest quality."
