The new organization has exclusive rights to develop, market, sell and support apps4biz small business applications throughout North and South America.

The company also announced that Peter Lopes, formerly vice president of sales and marketing for apps4biz, has been named president and CEO of apps4biz Americas, Inc. In addition, apps4biz Americas has opened its new headquarters in Wellesley Hills, Mass.

Beyond Lopes, the new organization is led by a team of seasoned industry experts who previously served with apps4biz, including Remond Arseneault, vice president of customer support/product management, and Will Norris, vice president of sales/channel management.

Global product development of the apps4biz software will be managed jointly by the recently formed apps4biz Europe, and apps4biz Americas, Inc.

According to Lopes, Small businesses in North America have already discovered the ease of use, quick deployment, tailoring options and other strengths such as affordability of our small business applications. Forming apps4biz Americas allows us to focus exclusively on meeting the needs of these customers in the Americas, while being able to leverage the added development resources apps4biz Europe provides. apps4biz business applications include General apps4biz, Manufacturing apps4biz, and the apps4biz Vertical Portfolios (consisting of the General and/or Manufacturing suites tailored to various industries). The suites encompass functionality in the areas of sales order management, inventory management, and purchasing management, supply chain management, manufacturing and e-business.

Lopes has an extensive history of executive level experience in the business application software industry. His prior employers include Psi Penta AG and Tetra International, both of which established a presence in the US through his efforts and both of which went public during his employment tenure. Prior to that his other employment included stints with D&B Software, Pansophic Systems and Cullinet Software. Lopes earned his bachelors degree in political science/pre-law at the University of Georgia.

Arseneault has a lengthy track record at managing customer support and product management teams for software companies. He managed implementations of ERP and other business management software solutions in industries that include automotive, capital equipment, aerospace, pharmaceutical and food processing. His prior software employers include Psi Penta, Manugistics and Fourth Shift. Arseneault gained his manufacturing expertise in operations management positions for TRW and American Engineered Components. He attended Northeastern University.

Norris has sold for and managed salespeople at a number of software companies whose offerings ranged from knowledge management to advanced planning and scheduling and ERP. Norris previous employers include Correlate Technologies, I2 and Fourth Shift. He was able to create strong and successful sales teams as well as customer bases at each of these organizations. Norris received his bachelors degree in industrial engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology.
