It is a well-documented fact that the funding for our schools gets lower and lower every year. This years school funds have been so low that some local school districts have discussed going to a four-day school week. With school funds this tight it is difficult to provide the essentials necessary to educate our students, much less providing the opportunities for the students to have the extras they are used to, such as field trips and extra-curricular activities. The Creative Fundraising in an E-World" program from Visions of Infinedi, a Claremore based company dedicated to promoting the fine arts, has been designed to provide a new and unique way for our school systems to raise these much needed funds.
Today we are immersed in an E-World where computers are the main source of information and communication. Almost every home in America has at least one computer -- and many have a computer per family member. Children, parents and teachers are using computers more and more for all their needs and studies. The 'Creative Fundraising in an E-World program utilizes this modern tool to show off students creativity and at the same time raise much needed funds for the school. Visions of Infinedi will publish and promote e-books, electronic books designed to be read on virtually any PC, which have been prepared by the students. The content of these books will range as wide as the imagination of our students. Books can and will be published with such content as recipes, poetry, short stories, essays and artwork all written and prepared by the younger generation.
The first e-book will be sponsored by the Inola High School English Department and will include short stories, poetry, sonnets and a special section dedicated to 9-11. Compiled and prepared by the Inola Creative Writing Class, "Look What We Did! Writings of a Younger Generation" is an anthology of various works submitted from the Inola High School Student Body and will be available for sale in CD, printed form or as a download on December 2nd, 2002.
