Not only for graphic designers, but also for anyone interested in Japanese language and culture!
---------------------------------------
One of our goals is to provide anyone interested in Japanese language and culture with a tool to learn more about Japan. KanjiStyle.com provides visitors to our site with an index of translation from English to Japanese. A visitor can use it as a simple dictionary and easily find their favorite word in Kanji. Another tool we provide is a quick image search via the search engine "Google". For example, if a visitor selects the word "cat", he/she is able to browse numerous images of "cat" which is not derived from a cat in English but from a cat in Japanese (Kanji) which enables visitor to understand the difference between the words in different cultures. In other words, visitors can obtain the images of cat in Japanese without Japanese search engine and such images are helpful hints to learn the 'authentic' meaning held by the Japanese people on any particular word or subject.

Kanji and the Japanese motifs within them have inspired artists all over the world
---------------------------------------
Each kanji has its own unique shape and meaning, and one can use the kanji either as statement, conscious of its meaning (for example, "love"), or simply because its shape looks interesting. There are an unlimited number of ways of using the kanji as a design tool. For example...
*For graphic design on advertisement, packaging, or on your website.
*Dyed onto the fabric of a T-shirt, towel, or handkerchief.
*Used as the background textile design of a curtain, carpet, or wallpaper.
*Printed on to a badge, broach, pin, or emblem.
*Printed on to ceramic ware, including pottery, furniture, or dishes.
*Print on to a game card, sticker, or label.
*Used in a show window display or a poster.
In fact, at the Spring-Summer Haute Couture Collection 2002 in Paris, various Japanese motifs were utilized in the display and attire. This is a good example of how traditional Japanese motifs have inspired many leading creators of the world to produce very modern and original art.
KanjiStyle.com allows the kanji and the Japanese traditional motifs within them to become widely and easily available to the citizens of the world. Our goal at KanjiStyle.com is to provide such traditional Japanese motifs in order to inspire and stimulate the creative minds of the world, and to share the beautiful language and culture of Japan with the rest of the world.
