MUD Mission Invasion
San Francisco indie punk band to play city's newest live music venue
San Francisco indie punk band MUD will be playing an all ages show at Club Galia on Saturday, December 14, 2002. The show begins at 2 p.m. and includes three other local bands-Riddled with Guilt, Low Rise, and Growth of Alliance. Club Galia, San Franciscos newest live music venue, is located at 2565 Mission Street (near 22nd Street).
This is MUDs last San Francisco performance of 2002. However, December promises to be a busy month for the band, with three other Bay Area performances in Berkeley, San Rafael, and Saratoga. The groups repertoire includes songs from their latest EP release Where Is Tomorrow, such as Fallen," Spaz," and Apartment Four." According to a recent Amazon.com customer who bought the CD, The chick singer and the ruff guitar make it pretty kickass." For additional show information, go to www.mudsf.com.
In 2001, MUD launched itself upon the San Francisco music scene. Their unique sound blends the energy of punk and the edge of metal into explosive grooves that speak to thrashing fans of such groups as Jawbreaker, the Deftones and Foo Fighters. Their pop punk sound is laden with edgy guitar riffs, a heavy bass groove, and a depth in songwriting that matches the spirit of some of todays best emo bands, such as The Ataris. Known only by their first names, members include Nikki (lead singer, rhythm guitar), Alan (lead guitar), Ralph (bass guitar), and Rich (percussion).
