A new Version of BioPassport® Enterprise Server will be launched on December 10th, 2002; it will improve Network Security and simplify the entire administration process through the use of biometrics.
Berlin, November 25th, 2002. IdentAlink the European leading developer of biometric network security solutions, today announced their new release of BioPassport® Enterprise Server to include biometric security features for MS® Windows® networks and Active Directory® services.
BioPassport® Enterprise Server enables enterprises to improve security and cut cost for network administration by not only replacing passwords with multi-layered biometrics but also to combine passwords, smartcards and barcodes with biometric authentication such as facial recognition, fingerprint, voice and iris.
This version of BioPassport® Enterprise Server integrates easily into existing network structures and offers outstanding security and additional protection.
Through the unique features of BioPassport® Enterprise Server the biometric features used to secure the network can be used as a true Single-Sign-on.
All existing, password secured software packages, can be secured with the same biometric template as used for network access.
Moreover, the integrated RSA based PKI enable the users to encrypt and decrypt files and folders as well as email communication with again the same biometric template.
BioPassport® Enterprise Server 3.5 includes the following features:
• Module BioLogin, which enables users to authenticate themselves with chosen biometrics for network access in LAN, WAN and WLAN
• Module Secure Applications, which enables users to authenticate themselves with chosen biometrics for ERP, QRM and other proprietary software over LAN, WAN and WLAN
• Module Secure Communications, which enables users to authenticate themselves, create digital signatures, encrypt and decrypt mails, files and folders over LAN, WAN and WLAN
• Easy and seamless installation into existing network infrastructure to combine authentication of unlimited Domains over the internet
• An easy and user-friendly install Wizard for server and pushdown" client modules.
• Support of 13 different biometric devices of 11 vendors to include fingerprint, facial recognition, voice and iris.
• BioAPI compliancy as long as chosen hardware is compliant
• Easy enrolment client side
• Mobile biometric templates to enable Laptop/network users to connect and authenticate themselves from wherever they are.
• Time and Attendance ticket provider to integrate into most T&A systems and extensive audit facilities.
• Full compliancy with EEC Data Protection Act
• Capability to administer unlimited networks via TCP/IP over the internet and save administration costs significantly.
There are more and more enterprises recognising the very extensive costs in password secured networks. Especially once passwords are changed on a short cycle (2, 4 or 6 weeks) and generated randomly in alphanumeric digits, said Elmar Hilgers, IdentAlinks CTO and Co-Founder." The BioPassport® Enterprise Server structure and its dedicated Modules enable network administrators to overcome the problems with lost and compromised passwords."
