New York, NY -- Universal Records gold-certified release Music From and Inspired By The Scorpion King, the critically-acclaimed soundtrack to the Universal Pictures film The Scorpion King, has been nominated for an American Music Award in the Favorite Soundtrack category.

Music From and Inspired By The Scorpion King (released on March 26, 2002) features 16 tracks from some of todays most-popular rock bands. 10 of the tracks were brand new and released for the first time on this collection. Creed, System of a Down, Nickelback, Sevendust, Drowning Pool, Coal Chamber, Hoobastank and Mushroomhead among others all contributed new music to this explosive soundtrack along with a remix from P.O.D. and a collaboration between Rob Zombie and Ozzy Osbourne.

The breakout single from the collection, Godsmacks I Stand Alone," broke records at rock radio, taking its place as the longest running song on the Active Rock Chart (42 weeks and counting). The track spent 11 weeks at the #1 spot and was named the Active Rock Song Of The Year by BDS for 2002.
