Austins Folk Divas of Dysfunction are coming to Houston in search of new clients." On Sunday, December 8th at 7 pm, The Therapy Sisters will co-facilitate a group session" at The Millbend Coffeehouse, Unitarian Universalist Church, 1372 N. Millbend, The Woodlands, (281) 350-3052. Opening the session will be Houstons April Kelly (www.aprilkelly.com).
With tongue-in-cheek and heart-on-sleeve, Maurine McLean and Lisa Rogers, ridicule the sublime and sublimate the ridiculous. Their unusual blend of topical, offbeat, and upbeat numbers have won them a broad range of fans of all ages. Lisas guitar picking and Maurines fretless bass go together like hallucinations and Haldol.
Though accepted by no major medical insurance, these longtime Lone Star lampoon artists continue to facilitate sessions nationwide, urging clients and colleagues to Give up bad music for good!"
Though Dr. Laura might warn that The Therapy Sisters could be habit-forming, that wouldnt stop the Austin Lounge Lizards, who said of their Siblings in Revelry, We laughed, we cried, we threw away our medication!"
Though the focus of the group session at The Millbend will be on recovering from Thanksgiving and preparing for the rest of the winter holidays with the help of their Codependent Christmas CD, these Surgeons of Swing are also apt to dispense some timely medicinal music from Lisas presidential campaign, e.g. Lets Put a Folksinger in the White House." www.TheTherapySisters.com.
