University of British Columbia BirdCoop Adopts New FITaccess Current Member Management Solution

VANCOUVER, BC - November 15, 2002 - FITaccess Technologies Inc. today announced that the wildly popular UBC BirdCoop, who Macleans Magazine describes again as "THE place to be on the UBC campus" has adopted the new FITaccess Current Member Management (CMM) solution at both of their facilities.

The unique FITaccess system was introduced to the BirdCoop members earlier this Fall as CoopConnect. CoopConnect is a FITaccess CMM product that combines an extensive library of realistic and progressive fitness programs called Choices, with the easy to use, scalable and extensible technology to improve member satisfaction and loyalty.

"There seems to be a perfect fit for interactive technology in the fitness industry. We have been using FITaccess in the University of British Columbia fitness facility (7,000 members) known as the UBC BirdCoop for a number of our well established general programs," said Sonya Lumholtz-Smith, Associate Director of the Department of Athletics, Recreation and Fitness at UBC, "but we have also found a good match for its use in our specialty programs like Changing Aging, an older adult fitness system and our upcoming MET Project for overweight youth. In the first six weeks since our launch, there are already several hundred members using the system. I think that using FITaccess technology is just the beginning of what I predict will have many natural outgrowth ideas which indeed will breathe a breath of fresh air in to an industry which will likely become quickly tired if not adopted."

"When you enter the UBC BirdCoop for the first time, you realize you are in a very fun, exciting and busy environment," said Peter Kanis, VP, Marketing and Sales of FITaccess Technologies. "We are thrilled that Sonya and her staff will be able to improve and extend their outstanding service to more members."
