1950s-inspired childrens clothing store celebrates grand opening with sock hop Dec. 7 and 8

LOS ANGELES -- Dec 2, 2002 -- Therell be polka dots and poodle skirts a-plenty this Saturday and Sunday Dec. 7 and 8 at the grand opening of the first retail store for Fifi & Fido at Farmers Market -- The Grove. Kids and families are invited for lemonade, games, goodies and more at the sock hop-themed event for the timelessly fashionable childrens clothing store created by young parent team Eileen and Michael Haber.

From poodle skirts to bucking bronco shirts, our clothes encourage kids to be kids, not mini moms and dads," says the former model, Eileen Haber. In Fifi & Fido, children cant help but play and parents cant help but snap pictures."

Therell be plenty of opportunity for both, Haber assures, at Fifi & Fidos grand opening. Featuring PB&J sandwiches, fresh lemonade and fun games lifted off the pages of Dick and Jane books from the 1950s, the event is good, clean weekend fun for the whole family.

Founded in 1999 and a sellout at Barneys New York the following year, Fifi & Fido is already featured in more than 150 boutiques nationwide. The flagship store at Farmers Market -- The Grove features timeless fashion in addition to the classic books, games and toys that serve as the inspiration for Fifi & Fido.

All families are welcome to attend the Fifi & Fido grand opening on Saturday Dec. 7 and Sunday Dec. 8 from 2:00pm to 5:00pm. Fifi & Fido is located at Farmers Market -- The Grove at 6333 West 3rd St. in Los Angeles.
